Children's Human Rights Workshops and the UNCRC
Our Children's Human Rights Workshops are designed for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training, aimed at educators, caregivers, and professionals who work in Girvan and the surrounding villages. These workshops focus on understanding and implementing the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Workshop Goals
Our CPD training workshops aim to:
- Educate Professionals: Provide a thorough understanding of the UNCRC and its implications for children's human rights.
- Enhance Skills: Equip participants with practical skills to promote and protect children's human rights in their professional roles.
- Promote Best Practices: Share strategies and best practices for integrating children's human rights into everyday interactions and institutional policies.
- Foster Advocacy: Encourage professionals to become advocates for children's human rights within their communities and organisations.
Workshop Activities
During our workshops, participants will engage in a variety of interactive activities, including:
- Case Studies and Simulations: Analysing real-life scenarios to understand the application of children's human rights in various contexts.
- Collaborative Discussions: Facilitating group discussions to share experiences and insights on promoting children's human rights.
- Expert Lectures: Learning from children’s human rights advocates and experts who provide deeper insights into the UNCRC.
- Resource Development: Creating materials and resources that can be used to educate and empower children about their rights.
Why It Matters
By training professionals on the UNCRC, we ensure that those who work with children are well-equipped to uphold and advocate for their rights. Understanding and implementing these principles in their work helps create environments where children feel valued, respected, and protected.
Our workshops not only enhance the professional development of participants but also contribute to a broader culture of respect and support for children's rights within the community. This, in turn, builds a safer and more empowering environment for all children.
